“…make your vision so clear that your fears become irrelevant…”
The dictionary definition of vision is:
“…the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom…”
There’s certainly plenty of imagination in our school, wisdom, I think is something that you develop over time, so give us time and we’ll get there too! I have a vision for Greenfields; we have a vision for the children, the staff and the community.
I am a self-confessed ideas person…if you were to ask the staff which words they dread hearing from me the most, I think they would probably say…
“…So, I’ve been thinking. What if we did…?”
Because having the ‘vision’ is only a small part of the machine isn’t it, you have to be able to make it a reality and at times that means being brave and taking a leap of faith, hoping that you can encourage others to take that leap with you. Over the course of the last couple of weeks I can’t count the number of people who have taken that leap…I have spent a great deal of time talking, convincing and sharing my vision for various things in the hope that they ‘get it’… they haven’t disappointed me. In truth, they never do.
As we come to the end of this term, my vision and visions have been made real, I can take no credit for this. We are so lucky in school that we have staff, parents, volunteers and members of our community that are prepared to embrace our vision and make ideas become reality. So many people have supported with ‘things’ and us and been so giving of their time, it has blown me way. So as we come to the end of another half term, why not take the leap with us too…
…Don’t just embrace our vision, become part of it.
Well done Greenfields.
